I've Been Nominated!: Liebster Blogger Award

I am finally getting to this! The Liebster Award! I am so thankful to the two beautiful bloggers who have nominated me: Kelly from KellyMonroe, Kara from BuyAnyMeansNecessary  Shakimbrya from YourStyleForecast.I very am excited to be apart of this!!!

Instructions:

The Liebster blog award is given to bloggers by bloggers. It is a new way for up-and-coming bloggers to expand their network and discover new talent in the blogosphere. “Liebster” is a German word for “favourite,” therefore, the award is the “favourite blog award.”

1. I love Jazz. I find it to be the most calming and exciting music! 
2. The Cosby Show is my fave TV show! I have learned a life lesson from every episode and I own all 8 seasons on DVD! 
3. I love clothes but I am not a huge fan of shoes or bags... I know! lol!
4. I love bananas! I love the flavor and I love everything that has bananas in it! My fave desserts are Banana Foster Cheesecake and Banana Pudding.
5. I am a YouTube addict! I love watching all kinds of different videos from beauty gurus to comedy sketches to vlogs!
6. I love Indie Films and Old Movies! I absolutely love any Gene Kelly film!
7. I love cult TV shows! Some of my favorites are: Community, Arrested Development, and Freaks and Geeks!! Absolutely love!
8. I am not a very good driver :/
9. I am an internship junkie! I am always looking to try out my talents in different fields. I have interned with law firms, fashion boutique, news station, and recently a lighting company in business development.

1. What’s the meaning behind your blog title? I believe I am a quick study when it comes to fashion = Apt Style. And everyone usually calls be a diva so I just added that on to the end.
2. Who would play you if your life was a movie? Umm... I would love Sanaa Lathan or maybe Jennifer Hudson. 
3. What song(s) would be the soundtrack of your life? Not Tonight by Elle Varner, Nobody's Perfect by Jesse J, Almost by Tamia (these are kind of always changing)

5. Who is your style icon? Audrey Hepburn and/or Katherine Hepburn (Both classic styles. Forever timeless!)

9. You are invited to The Oscars to present an award, what do you wear? Elie Saab, something shiny, floral, and gorgeous! I absolutely love Elie Saab!
10. It’s your first date and you want to make an impression. What do you wear? Bright fuchsia A-line skirt. Navy t-shirt with beaded embellished neckline, classic wedges (easy to walk in,simple but cute!)

Where Have I Been?

Hi guys...I am so sorry for the absence for the past month. School has been crazy crazy crazy this past month. If you are in college or were in college you know that getting into a good rhythm with school takes a little time. It usually takes me about a month to get comfortable with class and my school and work schedule. I believe that I am in a good place with my schedule and I can come back to the blog with full force. I believe I will be able to put up a blogpost about once a week. However, I have been taking some pictures during this month I just haven't had time to put things up.

I tried out some different glasses from Warby Parker, this really cool website that has trendy glasses frames and lenses for only $95 and has a great "Buy a Pair, Give a Pair" Program that gives glasses to someone in need. They have this really cool thing called "Home Try-Ons" were you can try-on 5 pairs of their glasses for free for 5 days. I tried on a couple of frames and I still haven't been able to figure out which ones I want.

Black Rock

My college announced that the Childish Gambino was coming to our school for the annual Fall Concert!!! I am CLEARLY over-the-moon I absolutely adore him! And not just because of his rapping abilities (which are amazing) but also because he is HILARIOUS. He plays Troy Barnes on my favorite sitcom, Community and he used to write for Tina Fey's show (and another of my faves) 30 Rock. 

If you don't know who he is...you NEED to! He is absolutely amazing and crazy talented! I will attach one of his most popular songs from his Camp album at the end of this post. I would personally love if everyone became a Gambino Girl like myself ;) however, if you are not ready for that level of fan-girldom I would suggest listening to: LES, That Power, Firefly, Freaks and Geeks, and Sunrise!

However to the point, he has this phrase that he uses for the his type of music called "Black Rock" (which is explained by Donald Glover a.k.a. Childish Gambino at the bottom of the post)! I have prepared what I think will be a perfect "Black Rock" inspired outfit for the concert coming up!!! I hope this outfit inspires you!

Back To School (BTS): Mac Obsessed Tech Cases

Hey guys! Long time no posting!!! I have been super busy these past few weeks with family coming in and my internship! I just finished my internship today and will be starting back university in 1 week!!! The time has went by so fast but it is that time of the year AGAIN: BTS (Back To School)! I am one of those weird kids who loved the time before BTS because that mean that I could get cool new school supplies and fresh pencils! I am still one of those kids but now instead of getting new spiral notebooks and pencils I am looking at new cases and styluses! Oh have the times have changed in all of 3 years! 

So, here are some of my favorite cases for the new school year! I have recently become a member of the "Cult of Mac" lol! So I am trying to outfit my gear before heading back to school so that it stays protected and doesn't get lost in the sea of Apple products at my university! 

I am sure you noticed the trend of Composition Notebook styled cases! I am actually already an owner of the Comp. Laptop Case and I absolutely LOVE it! I was always of fan of Composition Notebook's. Before, texting me and my friends in the hall of my middle school used to decorate them, write notes in them, and past them around in the hallways between classes! O, how I miss those days!

Olympic FEVER!!!

I am so excited at this point in time!! I know that I don't seem like a "Sporty Spice" but I absolutely LOVE LOVE the Olympics! It started last Friday and I have been literally sleep, eat, and breathing the Olympics!!! They have made it so that every second is LIVE on NBC.com and I have been watching it non-stop! So this is pretty much a post about how awesome the Olympics are!! Are any of you watching the Olympics???

Trend Watch: The Optical Illusion

Zara Sale!!!

Hi everyone!!! Just a quick drop-in post to inform you that Zara is having a sale on their WHOLE website!!! Yes you heard correctly :) !!! This is of course for UK and US! Personally, I absolutely love Zara because of their quality and classic pieces.

I love this peplum top ($25.99) it is so cute and flirty!!! Also, it's LACE! 

Another lace piece is this adorable skirt($50)!!! I love the soft buttercream color! 

I adore this flowy chiffon top ($25.99)!!! It is so ethereal and casual at the same time! Perfection!

And even the SHOES are on sale and AMAZING!!! I love the flat sandals with the metallic detail ($20)!! Perfect for the summer and right on trend! Also, the neon orange/red wedges($25.99) are also majorly on trend and perfect for summer!!

Music Fave of the Week

So I have been thinking about starting a new "segment"on this blog (segment sounds weird but please go with it) :)

So...I absolutely ADORE music! I know don't we all! But more than just music I love discovering new music!  I can literally be OBSESSED  with a "different" artist every other week :). 

And so came the not so original but absolutely LOVELY idea to do a "Music Fave of the Week". For this week it has to be: The Pipettes! This song is from their 2007 album We Are the Pipettes it is the perfect summer "get up and dance" song and the retro vibe is completely me! 

Now I can not take all the critic for discovering this song! An awesome website that everyone should check out is Songza!!! I found it on StumbleUpon a couple of weeks ago and it is basically the PERFECT combination of 8tracks and Pandora!!! So, Songza is this "Music Concierge" website that has a ton of professional playlists for different music moods, times of the day, and different days of the week! It is truly AWESOME you have to check it out!

Day in the Instagram

I absolutely love the app Instagram I don't get why it's so addicting I am just going to guess it has to do with the filters! lol! Well today was one of the last days of my Winter Break so I took some Instagram's so her is a day in the life :)

Got some DELICIOUS chicken teriyaki for lunch!! 

 Did a small bit of damage at the mall :) 

So today was a nice day! The best thing about today was the weather! It is early January here in Alabama however it was like 65 degrees today! I was HOT in my car! So awesome! I am going to miss this break!
